Classes and Groups where we explore our faith through conversation, dialogue and sharing.
Sunday School: for older children–UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Sunday School for our younger children (ages 3-2nd grade) is offered at 10:30 a.m. on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th (and 5th when it occurs) Sundays of the month. Children are invited to learn the stories of our faith and of Jesus through classes that incorporate Godly Play and other formats designed to encourage their imaginations. Children gather in the sanctuary at 10:30 a.m., are led out to a prayer and song at the beginning of worship, and rejoin their families at the Peace. Leader: Wendy Butler-Boyeson.
Youth Group: Our youth group meets once per month on Sundays afternoons for fun activities and confirmation preparation. Leaders: Mo. Natasha, Michael Peacor and Bridey Connolly.
Christian Formation: Adults and older youth are invited to formation each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Format is a lively variety of videos, book studies, theological discussion and special topics determined on a regular basis by input from those attending. Breakfast is offered at 9:00 a.m. Leaders: Pat Russell and Jane Smith.
Seasonal Classes: Evening classes on specific topics are offered on a periodic basis. Past classes have included Via Media (an exploration of the Anglican/Episcopal Church geared for long-term Episcopalians and Newcomers), a Lenten class on Gender and the Nicene Creed, and an Advent class looking at faith, ecology and ethics. Leader: the rector and various other congregation members.
Classes for Baptismal, Reception and Confirmation Preparation are available on an as-needed basis and taught by the rector. We also lift up and celebrate these preparation periods through special blessings during our main Sunday Service.
Prayer Chain: a special ministry of lifting up our community’s and the world’s prayers. All are invited to be a part of this ministry and to be on call to lift up prayers particularly when there is a pastoral emergency within the community. Contact our Leaders: Helen Reed and Marian McKenzie.
Eucharistic Ministers: serve during worship by leading pslams and prayers, helping to set the table for Communion, and serving as chalice bearers among other roles. Some EMs also take the gifts of bread and wine to those who are ill or in hospital. To learn more or to become an EM contact our leaders: Deacon Maron and Kathleen O’Gieblyn.
