Lucy grew up on a farm and attended school in Cove, Oregon. She started singing church music at a young age; learning how to sing Anglican Chant, hymns (plainsong to contemporary) and in high school joined the adult choir. She graduated from Eastern Oregon State College in La Grande with a degree in music.
Lucy and her husband, Scott, moved to the Eugene area in 1977 and now live in Cottage Grove. She has sung in choirs, small groups, musical theater and has directed choirs off and on since 1982. She came to Church of the Resurrection in 1989 and started directing the choir full-time in 2008. As a choir director she considers pitch, tone and blend to be of high importance, but most vital is the ability to deliver the message from the heart.
Outside of music Lucy enjoys sewing, gardening, camping, fishing and spending time with family including her black cat, Leo.
