Feeding our Neighbors
I learned today that the Nightingale Community Hosted Shelter (the Conestoga village on Hilyard down the hill from church) is in need of supper on the next two Mondays. The task is simply to prepare a meal for 20 and deliver it to the shelter at 4:30 pm. The only dietary restriction is that there be no nuts. With several folks working together, it should not be difficult at all.
The catch is that the first date is coming right up, and the shelter needs to know if we can help ASAP.
If you are able to help THIS COMING MONDAY, OCTOBER 30, please contact me immediately. As soon as I have heard from 3-5 people, I will put you in touch with one another so that you can make plans and tell the folks at Nightingale that we can help.
If you are able to help on Monday November 6, there is less rush, but the system will be the same.
In related news, our “little free food pantry,” Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, now has some mouse resistant bins installed. If you bring rodent prone items, please place them in the bins if there is room. Anything you can spare that needy neighbors might use is welcome – food, hygiene items, or pet food are always needed.
Thank you, Resurrection, for your care for the poor!
