Service time survey

We return to our regular schedule of services at 8:00 and 10:30 on Sunday October 4.

As we discussed the matter at our meeting last week, however, the Vestry nearly unanimously found that we prefer a single service. We want to know if you feel the same and would love some guidance to help us plan services and times strategically.

If you have not already done so, would you please complete the survey on-line (see Tune-Up) or in worship this Sunday.

Thank you!

Formation

Rally Day (October 4) marks the transition from the summer doldrums into the program year. Along with changing service times and styles, we’ll begin various adult formation classes. Lauri will be leading an online book study group across the Eugene/Springfield congregations. We will offer a newcomer’s class, either a full Confirmation/Reception class or a lighter intro to the Episcopal Church depending on demand. While that gives us plenty to do, I also like to offer a more topical class between the services on Sunday mornings and would love to hear what would be most interesting to you. Requests so far have been for a class on sacramental theology (discussing the meaning and practice of Baptism, Eucharist, and the other sacramental acts) and the history of the earliest spread of the Church, examining the Acts of the Apostles, the travels of Paul, and the traditions around the missionary travels of the Apostles. Either would make a good study, and I welcome other suggestions. Please let me know your thoughts.
