A Sunday Visitor
This Sunday, August 17, my predecessor as Rector, Fr. Brent Was, will be joining us for worship along with his family. This is a great chance to catch up with an old friend or, like me, to make a new one!
Sunday Formation
“Do you know where you’re going when you die?” That’s the question posed by many a threatening billboard. This Sunday at 9:15 we’ll be looking at the possibilities, both Biblical and speculative. We’ll talk about Sheol, Gehenna, and hell. We’ll talk about Eden, the earthly paradise and about the heavens (first, second, and third). We’ll talk about Purgatory and Limbo, the heavenly paradise, realms that many believe in but that are not mentioned in the bible. Finally, we’ll do our best to separate the little that the Bible says about these places from the popular conceptions that have emerged out of the Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri. We won’t solve any deep theological problems, but we’ll certainly have fun!
