Looking up to the skies…

Don’t forget our Eugene/Springfield Ascension Day service and dessert potluck this evening. The service begins at 6:00. The Rev. Ryan Baker-Fones will be preaching. For the churches in our area to work more closely together, it is critical that we get to know and love our Episcopal neighbors, and this is an excellent opportunity to meet new friends from other congregations. We’ll have time to share sweet things together following the service at the dessert potluck.

Our basement repairs will begin in earnest on Monday June 9. Our contractor will begin by removing the vinyl plank, loosened by the flood. Once the old flooring is up, the underlying cement will be ground down, sealed, and polished to produce an attractive and WATERPROOF floor. The whole process will take about 2 weeks, during which the basement will not be available for use.

Once the floor is finished, we’ll be looking for volunteers. Because our insurance did not cover the whole cost of mitigation and repair, as a cost saving measure we’ll be taking on the drywall repair, painting, and baseboard replacement ourselves. Stay tuned for how you can help.
