This week we’ll return with joy to Resurrection. The road work is not finished and may create some detours and headaches getting to the church, and there is a significant bump at the entrance, but the parking lot is now open, and I will look forward to seeing all of you once again.

I hope you all enjoyed your chance to see how some of the other churches in our area and Diocese express worship. This Sunday we’ll take some time to share our experiences. Here are some questions to think about in the next few days:

  • What made the church you visited easy or difficult for you to find?
  • Was parking easy and close, or did you walk?
  • How easy was it to find the right entrance? Does the congregation use the main church door or a side entrance?
  • How were you welcomed and oriented? Did the greeters, ushers, or congregation members do anything special that made you feel at home?
  • Was the space accessible to you or were there barriers?
  • Did the congregation use the BCP or a service booklet? What made the bulletin either useable or confusing?
  • What was the liturgy and music like? Traditional or modern? Was it high church Anglo-Catholic or not-quite-Methodist low church?
  • What was coffee hour like, if there was one?
  • What part of the experience especially stood out to you?
  • Where did you encounter Christ in your visit?

This Sunday at the end of each service we’ll talk through these things and more. I’ll look forward to hearing your stories!
