A Celebration to Remember
This coming Sunday, November 23, will be quite the party!
It is a big day for the Church. Sunday is Christ the King Sunday, an opportunity to end the Church year with a reminder that Jesus Christ is Lord of Heaven and Earth. It’s an opportunity to bring out the white hangings, sing some wonderful hymns, and remind ourselves that, come what may, our victory has already been won and Jesus is Lord of all.
It’s a big day for Resurrection, it is our ingathering Sunday, a day to give thanks for the abundance of gifts that God has given to each of us as individuals and to all of us as a community. We will bless our pledge cards on the altar (DON’T FORGET TO BRING YOURS IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY.) and share, not a potluck, but a feast of thanksgiving and celebration after the 10:30 service.
Finally, it is a big day for the Communion of Saints. On Sunday we will be adding Robbie, Leland, Mason, and Micah to that great cloud of witnesses who stand before the throne as we baptize them and welcome them to the household of God.
What a great way wrap up the Church year! I hope I will see you all on Sunday!
